After working my butt off in the same career field for over 25 years I did something extraordinary..I bailed out. After my divorce this past year ( 25 year marriage) I was determined to live my life the way I wanted to so I built a new house, saved my pennies and nickels and then walked up to my boss and turned in my resignation---didn't have a single job prospect in hand but rather an unwavering confidence in myself that I will eventually find a job/career that I can enjoy. Sound nuts?? If so then let me hear from you..I'm sure I'm not the first guy to do this...nothing ventured..nothing gained..

I am impressed! Hope it works out for you...
After 23 years, I am no longer interested in my profession, and am working to determine my next career move...but with a great salary and some financial handcuffs, and a son about to start college next year, I have not been able to convince myself to walk away yet. How did you come to your decision? to accept the risks? way to go! |
