Any suggestions on finding a career coach for physicians??I haven't had any luck searching the internet for people with that expertise. Thanks for any hints..I'm a male OBGYN in my early 40's.
I would assume he is going to ask you what you are good at that you would want to do. He would then suggest that you look into that career. I don't know if you are going to find anything making the money that you are now (although expenses may go down especially with insurance).
About 5 years ago I made a career change from the fire department to a law firm - pretty wild shift in direction. I wish I had a career coach and regret not seeking one out at the time - could have alerted me to a few pot holes that I experienced. At the time I relied on close friends, family and even a buddy who is a minister (I'm not particularly religious so this contact wasn't through a church).
The rough introduction to law firm culture has now passed and things are pretty good - I just wish someone had helped along the way. I suppose my contribution to this dialogue is simply this - career change can be a wonderful thing, but I would get as much assistance as possible before jumping. Good luck...
