Is anyone else mystified by the junk that some women feel compelled to cart around in their purses. I was behind a women in a checkout counter who proceeded to empty her purse in search of some small change.
Out came used kleenex, candy wrappers, an assortment of obviously expired coupons, napkins, an empty coke can, several beatup looking granola bars, enough makeup to fix up a small army of women, several perfume bottles, and a wide assortment of unidentified items. All of this took a fair amount of time, but what was particularly amazing was that she put all of the obvious trash back into the purse even though she was standing next to a trash can. |

The purse full of junk doesn't bother me as much as when my wife and I go to a formal event (my nephew's wedding last week for instance) and she decides she doesn't want to carry a pruse. So, she takes about two hadfuls of that junk out of the purse, hands it to me and says, "Put this in your pockets for me."

Yep, that would bother me. I've done it, but the items were usually pretty small. I think that most men make a real effort to keep the amount of "stuff" in their pockets to a bare minimum. I suppose that I am lucky that me wife periodically cleans hers out and doesn't let the junk get to the reproductive stage. She has a number of "favorite" purses, the process of changing over to a different color is what does it. I might be a bit used to the wife carrying a couple of things for me in her purse, she has one that has the storage capacity of a regular briefcase. |

My wife has a back-pack style bag (a Vera Bradley she found at a garage sale). It is stuffed with crap.
But when we got to parties that are a bit dressy, she does have an evening purse. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |
