Have any of you guys heard of the book "The Dangerous Book for Boys"? It sounds like a really cool book for the young'uns.

For those of you with grown boys (now men) - what traditional "guy" things did you teach your boys? What things do you wish you had taught them?

What do you consider "traditional guy things". I have taught my sons an undying hatred of anything NY Yankee. I have taught them how to care for the lawn mower (change the oil, sharpen the bland, ect), hwo to start a good fire, and respect for the feminate (sp) species.

Good question. I'd say that traditional guy things would be just what you have taught - loyalty, working with your hands, being a gentleman.

The reviews for "The Dangerous Book for Boys" got me thinking about what boys are taught by society now. When I was a boy (I'm 44 now), my brother and I made forts in our farm's shelterbelt, pretended that farm equipment were space ships, fished and hunted, stuff like that.

I did my best to teach my son those things as well.
