It seems to me that the more the Dems and republicans move away from each other the more the general population of this country is left choosing a canidate that "somewhat" fits their beliefs. So I ask is it time for the parties to change or die off like the Wigs and the Torres did??

I think so, but getting a moderate party off the ground faces formidable odds.

Vote Libertarian. Or Green. Or whatever. Just quit supporting the tired old corrupt current parties.

I vote Libertarian - I'm kind of like the commentator (for the life of me I can't recall the name) who said "I'm Libertarian, without all the crazy ****".

The only way to affect change is to go out and do it - which is why I have to shake my head at all the political blogs out there. Nearly all of them are all talk and no action.

I admit that I don't know much about the other "smaller" parties out there.(no offense meant i couldn't think of a way to describe them) The way I see it, and maybe I'm way off base, is that most people agree with the general idea of what the parties want to do,just not with all of the pandering to the extremes. By that I mean the extreme religous right and the extreme left liberals. I agree with parts of each parties platform just not all of it. Most people i talk to,I find, feel the same way. So how do you get the middle represented? I agree Pecos getting another major party off the ground would face some extreme challenges, not to mention a difficult time from the press.But could it be done and be a factor in 4 years? And wouldn't that be real change?

You know the old saying - all politics is local. So an idea for promoting a new party (or reforming an existing one) is to work at the local level for that party.
