Yes it does seem like yesterday. I took that day off...was suppose to be working on the roof of a building straight across the river the in jersey City. I would have watched it all happen.

I was working in Brooklyn that day.Luckily for me I had to go in early because of the election or else I would have been in the subway under them.We could see everything from where we were. That night it took almost three hours to get home from Brooklyn that night.

It still seems so surreal to me that this could happen. I think we need to see the pictures a little more often than once per year as a reminder of what could happen again, and an event that brought us together as a nation with a common bond.

I remember the day so clearly. The skies were bright blue and sunny here in Minnesota. It was almost too nice a day. I got a call from one of my clients who told me to turn on the TV. When the towers collapsed, it was like a punch in the face.

We need to remember those who died, and we need to remember this day....... the Pearl Harbor of this generation.

Living in NYC I wish I didnt see those images so much!!!
One of the most bizzarre things was the first time on the news when a reporter said we were looking at the spot where the Twin Towers used to be!!!

It still doesn't seem real to me, and I still want to get every single one of those bastards who planned this attack. Pure evil no question about it.

It is one of those events that I'll always remember what I was doing when I heard about it. The other big ones are the Challenger and Columbia accidents.

On the day of the attacks, I was at work, and heard something on the radio about a plane hitting a building in NYC. I tried to bring up the MSNBC website, and that site, as well as CNN and other news sites, was basically down due to overwhelming traffic.

My wife kept calling me from home, scared stiff, to give me updates.

I was heading across the parking lot going back into my workplace when a Sailor coming the other way told me what happened. Back inside the building I watched the event on TV and couldn't believe it was real at first.

My 8th grade class and I sat all day and watched the news unfold. Some school districts forbade their teachers from showing what was going on. Fortunately we had a superintendent that wasn't stupid.

I think 7 years later we have become a bit relaxed about the whole thing. For a time it brought the country together, put people in church, and helped us realize there are some really bad people out there.

How quickly, apparently that has all come undone.

Jon

It is true how quickly we all have forgotten that we are the most hated society on the planet. I think most other countries love the USA when they need help and hate the USA when they feel they don't need us anymore. It's one of the reasons energy independence is big on my list for the election this year.

Last night on the History Channel they had a show called 102 Minutes. It showed news footage and parts of something like 12 different home cameria pieces. It showed how different people reacted to all of the events as they unfolded. My son and i ended up in a very indepth conversation about alot of things as we watched it. He was only five at the time and doesn't really remember too many details. I was supprised that his history teacher didn't have somehing prepared on it for class.
