Who are your heroes? Why?

I'd say that one of my heroes was my grandfather. He worked hard, people respected him, he loved his family, and he was true to his word.

I've also had several mentors at different stages of my life. One was my first commanding officer. He took the time to explain how things worked in our little branch of the Army, and even recommeneded me for an ROTC scholarship (which I got).

I would have to say my father and my mothers father and brothers. My father because he worked 2 jobs his entire married life to keep food on the table and clothes on our backs. And my Mothers family because the lived the Christian life by treating everyone repectfully (even if that person was a prick!)

Ok, time to revive this thread. Who are your heroes?

A sports hero of mine was Roger Staubach. Great player, great leader on the field. I miss having players like that in pro sports now.
