I was reading an article on the Men's Health website, and a line in it kind of struck me. In explaining to his wife who a friend of his was the author said "That is George, and he is on my list of 10 Friends with Whom to Face the Apocalypse."

Do you have friends like that? Are you a friend like that?

I have friends that I call with computer questions, with requests for business advise. I have friends that call me for the same type of thing.

But do you have friends that you'd want to stand with you if the entire freakin' world was going to hell?

I have two friends who I would say that yeah I would want to stand with them if the whole world was going to hell.

We have all been friends for thirty something years and still talk on a regular basis and go out when our wives allow it.

We are the people our parents warned us about.

First let me say hello to everyone as I am new to the forum.

I believe that this is kind of like the question or statement rather that I have used on occasion. "If I were going into combat I'm taking these guys". I can name 8 friends/buds or whatever you want to call them that I know for a fact would have my back and be there for me no matter what.

I'm curious to know if the number of friends you would name would increase if you had performed any military service.

I don't know the answer to your question - I'm ex-Army, but don't keep in touch with too many of those I served with. BUT, I do have a lot of friends on some veterans lists that I'm on that I've met face-to-face and would consider that type of friend.
