I was looking through an issue from a month or two ago (sorry, I can't seem to find it) and just had to laugh (sort of a "what a bunch of dumb asses" sort of laugh).
There was a full truck clothing ad (that's two full pages) featuring what looked like a gang of 12 year old gay boys. Sorry if that offends anyone on the forums, but I find it odd that a magazine geared toward 40+ heterosexual men would feature an ad like that. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

I was reading the Sept issue this morning and they had a bunch of ads for men's clothing. Outside of a few big cities in this country, I just don't know anyone who buys that kind of clothing. I am more of an LL Bean kind of guy.

I heartily agree. The Best Life ads look so akin to the Mens Health that it makes me mad. It looks like they are focusing the ads on a demographic of 20-30 year old urban metrosexuals. I wish they could focus the whole mag more on the middle-aged, middle class man who is just trying to get a little bit of the "Best Life."
Oh, but I surely can't complain about the pictures of the ladies in these magazines......... |

Exactly! We have a pretty good (most of the time) magazine geared at our demographic, but still get ads for the 20 year old wannabe executive.
Of course, no one in business dresses like the boys in those ads anyway, regardless of age. And face it - if you made as much money as many senior executives make, you're not going to buy off the rack anyway. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

Sounds like something to contact Joel about. Didn't he say he was a senior editor at Best Life?
