Hey guys (and gals) - what is going on here? I've been stuck in my room for most of the day and have been fighting against a few spammers on the sexuality forum.

But there's a bigger (no pun) question here - can this forum survive with the limited number of posters that are here, or will it fall victim to spam overload and be shutdown by BestLife?

What do you all think about this?

We are a lonely, lonely bunch on ths forum. I think that there are only about 8 of us that post here on a semi-regular basis.

Maybe we will get "discovered" one of these days. And then again, maybe not,.... if you look at the forums that are very active, you will see either a lot of arguements that keep things lively or you see a narrow common interest like dogs, fitness, motorcycles, etc. (I am not very interested in getting arguements.) We are kind of a general bullshooting type of forum which explains why the level of posting here picks up significantly during the colder months.

I'm a new guy here but I'll do what i can to keep it open. I tried a few other forums but like you said it's alot of like what we like or you don't agree with me so i'm going to slam you for it. I've "monitered" this one as a guest for awhile seems like everyone is pretty respectful of everyone elses opinion, maybe not always agree, but respectful. That's a big plus in my book.

Welcome aboard! I'll agree that everyone who posts here on a regular basis is pretty agreeable and supportive even if our backgrounds are different. I hope that you will help us bump up the discussions a bit.

I like this forum, more mature than Men's Health, and yes, a close knit bunch. I'd like to see it "stay". But the spam is a pain in the arse.

Yes, we are here, but sometimes this forum reminds me of a huge warehouse that only contains a few isolated boxes scattered in the different corners.

If there are any mods around, I have never seen them. I think that they started out with some, along with some other "experts", but , ... well ... who knows what happened. Maybe they died off from old age.

It does echo in here.

In the short time I've been here I haven't seen any. I think that echo is because here everybody seems to be a little older and more mature than at Mens Health. With age comes responceability(sp?) and commitment. It might echo alittle but it's a betterp place!

No, no mods. If there were, there would probably be more posts since guys wouldn't be driven off by the spam.

Posts seem to be a bit bursty (that's a communications term for all or nothing Big Grin ), but every once and a while we get some activity.

Glad you could join us

I think that at least one of us regulars should become a Mod and get this forum cleaned up. I tried sending an E-mail to rodale to volunteer, but the address they have on this website and in the magazine doesn't work. I'm retired, and there are not enough regular postings here to make the task that time consuming.

Maybe we are just orphans and need to get used to the idea. ....

I've also tried emailing them about the forum with no success.

I really don't know how to get their attention - I don't even think the forums are mentioned on the main site any more.

On the main site all the way at the bottom of the page it lists "discussions". Thats how I found you guys. Most people probally don't even look that far down on the page.
I always wondered what it would be like to be a red headed bastard step child.....Now I know!
