I was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday and he suggested that I needed to get the book "Inside Delta Force" by Eric Haney (one of the founding members of Delta Force). Here's a quote from the introduction:
"In combat, there are no winners. The victors just happen to lose less than the vanquished." I was reminded of this by thinking about my buddy - he had called me cause he needed a distraction from the pain caused when they removed some more shrapnel from his armpit. He and his team won that fight, but only in the sense of the above quote. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

A profound quote indeed! I may look to pick up the book as well.
That book is the basis for the CBS TV series, The Unit. I really enjoy the show, and have considered checking the book out. Unfortunately, I fear the TV show may be a casualty of the writers strike. It never came bakc except as repeats after the strike. Anybody read the book? |

I do like that show (or did I guess). I liked the characters and the acting was pretty good as well.
