May 28th would have been the 100th birthday of Ian Fleming. Fleming only made it to 56, but he lived a lot of life in those 56 years.

And, he has given many of us hours of pleasure either reading his novels, or watching the films that were based on those novels.

I owe my sanity to Ian Fleming. Those James Bond Novels came out shortly before I deployed to Africa and they provided an invaluable diversion from the routine of shipboard life with very little shore leave. By the time we got back to Norfolk, those little novels were really frayed from the number of people who read them.

I really have enjoyed his books as well. The fact that his stories are still popular show that good books can stand the the test of time.
