Here in Minnesota, it appears to be the year without Springtime. Although we have had a handful of decent days over the past 2 months, mostly it has been unseasonably cold and snowy.

Here it is, April 25th and the afternoon temp is below freezing. It has started to snow, and we are told to expect up to 10 inches of snow here by this time tomorrow. The weather service has us in a "winter storm warning." The 10 day forecast shows high temps in the 40s to low 50s into the first week of May. Our local school distirct cut the boys and girls golf programs for next year due to budget cuts. I guess that makes sense. I doubt they will get out on the course until at least early May anyway.

I am just about completely fed up with this winter weather. The opening of fishing season starts 2 weeks from tomorrow, and the lakes around here are still iced over. I hate to join the naysayers crowd, but here goes: "What Global Warming?"

How is it where you live?

This time of year in South Carolina is beautiful. It is getting into the high 70's every day, and cooling down to good sleeping temps at night. Everything is in bloom and the only problem is all the pollen.

But then, we still have July and August ahead of us and I will be complaining with passion about how hot and humid the South can get.

I just came in to take a break from trying to move this 10 inches of "Springtime" off my driveway and sidewalks. Here is the latest for our area from the National Weather Service:

.SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO FALL THROUGH THE AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHWEST MINNESOTA...ESPECIALLY IN THE BAUDETTE...BEMIDJI...AND PARK RAPIDS
AREAS. STRONG NORTH WINDS TO 40 MPH WILL PRODUCE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW WITH BRIEF WHITEOUT CONDITIONS IN OPEN COUNTRY. THE
CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE WEST OF A CROOKSTON...FARGO..TO LISBON
LINE AS THE SNOW ENDS. THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM RESPONSIBLE FOR
THIS WINTER STORM WILL SLOWLY MOVE NORTHEAST INTO ONTARIO THIS
AFTERNOON. STORM TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS IN ITS WAKE WILL RANGE FROM
8 TO LOCALLY AS HIGH AS 20 INCHES FROM EXTREME SOUTHEAST NORTH
DAKOTA INTO NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA.

What a great way to spend a Saturday!!!!

Sounds like time to get the fireplace going, put on some good music, pour a good brandy and read a good book.

This Southern spring is killing me. It's been pretty warm in Georgia and I'm not yet used to it.

Personally I'd rather have a bit of snow, but then they've always said I was a little strange.

How did you enjoy all that rain at Ft Gordon over the weekend? It rained "cats and dogs" over here in Aiken. It did get me out of some heavy yardwork, ... for a little while.

It was warm for Monday and Tuesday here in the greater Teton/Yellowstone region. But, the temperature is dropping this evening and clouads are moving in. Looks like rain and snow according to the reports.
