Just thought I'd take a stab at this new General Discussions section of the forum. Glad to see that our new moderator is fixing up the place!

I have noticed a couple of things, that make me wonder and amuse me at the same time. See what you think:

1. If you see a guy in a car talking on a cell phone using his right hand to hold the phone, 9 times out of 10 he will be leaning to the right.

2. Try this one next time you are waiting at a long stop light. Move your car ahead 6 inches. Again, 9 times out of 10 the car behind you will move up by 6 inches.

Sometimes I am highly amused by watching human beavior in the wild. I wonder if we even realize some of the crazy things we do.

First, it is sure sweet to have a moderator.

Secondly, human nature is infinitely variable and just when I think that I have things figured out, they come up with a new wrinkle. Some people aren't that interesting to watch, but I have worked with a couple who were entertaining as hell, and they didn't even know it.

i know i will move up the amount of space that the car ahead of me moves. i don't know why...

I do the same thing???
It might have something to do with the fact that usually I'm in a rush to get somewhere and that "extra" couple of inches is helping me get there faster. Yes it sounds really stupid but it's the only thing that comes to mind.

Ok, how about this one - our RV died at a stoplight today (we were on the way to the service center, made it within a block when it gave up the ghost). Wife was following in the car, so she put the emergency flashers on and sat there until the cavalry showed up to just start the RV.

At least 10 cars/trucks pulled up behind her, even though the other lane was completely clear and showing a green light. Some even sat for two or three cycles behind our car. (remember that the flashers are on)

One even kept creeping up as if to get us to move. Why I can't even begin to imagine.

this just shows that some were born in the shallow end of the gene pool. as long as the flashers were on one and the next lane was open, one should just know...

The flashers are dead give away that something is wrong. If you can wait behind someone for two or three lights you can get out and see if they need help. People amaze me!
