Lets hear from everyone, best big game quarterbacks in pros and college.
My picks
Pro-Joe Montana-no need to explain. Maybe props to Tom Brady but they won all three super bowls by 3 points each-with that defense they should have been blowouts! He is very sharp and precise but just doesn't have the touch and magic that Joe had. Watching the 49ers back then you just KNEW they were gonna win.
College-Tommy Frazier, Matt Leinart/Vince Young
Frazier won two straight national championships and they only lost two games in his four year career. I give nod to Leinart and Young together cause they both won big and against each other was the best national championship game I have ever seen-Flawless game plan by Texas and USC's offensive firepower but ultimately it was Vince's sheer desire to put the team on his back and just win baby!

brady is a good quarterback who is a part of an offensive plan that plays up his strengths. montana is probably the best qb i have ever seen ( i realize the old timers like lks will say sammy baugh or ya title).

regarding vince young...young quarterbacks who run a lot (young, vick, ect)unfortunatly fall in love with their running abilities and they break down quickly. quarterbacks like fran tarkenton ran, but were trained to only run when needed. now a days, the qb run is part of the offensive package.

Actually, my favorite QB (though maybe not the best) was Staubach. I once saw him engineer three scoring drives in the final two minutes of a game.

What I liked about QBs like Staubach, Tarkenton, etc were that they were in control - they called many or most of the plays based on their read of the field. You think that Vince Young does that? Not that he and others couldn't, but can you see a coach give up that type of control?

Speaking of coaches - who's the best all time? Hank Straum was excellent, Laumbardi of course, Tom Landry, many others of course come to mind. I'm sorry, but most of the new ones are just no talent jerks. Holmgren? Loser. Shotenhiemer? Loser. Jimmy Johnson. Loser with plastic hair.

Lombardi obviously. Currently, I think Bill Belcheck (sp) is one of the best.

Back to QBs. I was really glad that Manning got the Super Bowl win. One of the great injustices of life has been that Dan Marino never got that. I would have hated to see two QBs of that level of talent have the same bad luck.

Steve Young is an example of a running quarterback who was finally coached correctly. You have to have the right system for a quarterback to run effectively long-term.
