guys that is f**king scary!! LOL!!!

but let us give shakira some slack. She opened for the stones on one of their tours and they don't let anyone not worthy to do that. Some of her tunes are guitar driven and kick a some serious azz!

Agree, the Stones won't allow just anyone to open, then again I saw Eddie Mondey open for them in 1970 something...but with the Internet being what it is, there is always somebody ready to parody anybody and dump a film clip out there where we can find it. Eeker

Oh, I thought I was clear - she is a vapid little tart. Easy on the eyes, but it takes more than nice knockers to make a singer.

So true, so true. Cool Wink

Another time, Earth Wind and Fire opened, and Charlie Daniels (!) also played before the Stones, who always made you wait an hour or two or more before they took the stage. Of course, we had to get to the stadium at daybreak to get near the stage, and a couple of our group were so drunk they slept through the opening acts but awoke for the Stones.

That was the tour with the huge inflating penis onstage.

Now I live about 10 miles from Altamont Speedway, which is still operating. It is in the middle of nowhere, on some hills east of the Bay Area, seems like such an unlikley place for a concert. But in those days, the venue didn't matter, everyone would come as long as the bands were good, and there were so many good ones.

saw them for the first time at the syracuse carrier dome. two southern rock bands opened for them (i think one was the outlaws) and then saw them again with sheryl crow (she opened the show, she wasn't my date!) long wait before ht e stones opened but it was well worth it!
