Thanks Chief. Hey, just got back from Ft. Riley where I helped a unit get ready to deploy. When I got back I stunk like cordite, gun grease, and sweat, but I felt great. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

Very good post.
It is amazing how our military often produces our best leaders, etc. Think about people in our countries history who served in the military (or took time to serve in the military) and then later were achievers: Washington, Jackson, Lincoln, Grant, Roosevelt (Theodore), Jimmy Stewart, Ted Williams, Roger Staubach, Audy Murphy, I believe Joe Frazier got his boxing start in the military (could be wrong though), Van Heflin, DiMaggio spent time in the service, Reagan helped produce propoganda films for the military and government, of course more recently Pat Tillman died in the line of duty. Maybe our leaders today would be a bit tougher and less indecisive if they had been forged in the military insead of prep schools and foreign exchange programs.
