I race. Crew for a buddy of mine who races an open wheel roadracing car while I work on my racecar to get it ready to compete. Didn't start racing until I was 46, started in karts, ran a couple of years then sold the kart and bought my racecar. I'm only 51, I figure I'll race until the SCCA won't give me a license. My goal is to win my class at the Runoffs, which is the year's end national championship event for SCCA Club Racing. God gave me the ability and desire to race and I'm not going to waste it. Life is too short for regrets.

I workout in the gym 4 times a week, hike, bike ride, run 12 miles a week, gearing up to climb Mt. McKinnley in Alaska next december after I rotate back to the states in Jan. Used to play softball and golf a lot but got burned out on it, wanted something new and challenging.

Code,

I will be picking up a eleven and a half foot hand made long board a friend made for me. Was wondering where there are some good places to surf. I know that Camp Pendleton has some pretty good shoreline. Some of my friends tell me that Solona Beach CA has a pretty good break too. Any input or advice would be appreciated.

Letherneck,

Dude! Solona Beach! That spot is nice. I reread your post and it clicked! You can try Encinitas or even Laguna Beach. When I go out west I stay at one of the 3 listed. OH wait! Maybe try Dana Point! Nice area. Let me know whats up. I'd love to see a pic of your board.

Hey Code,

Sorry for the late response, I just got back from Korea and getting back into the groove so to speak. I am stationed in Yuma, Az. I do know the California coast line though, been living out here (Yuma, Az.) for some 18.5 years so I will know what your talking about or at least Know how to get to it by directions from my friends. I should be picking up my board on the 25th of this month, I will take some pics and send them down range. Beers and BBQ to ya

Leatherneck,

I havent logged in for a while. I see your picking up your board today. Im stoked for you! Be safe. My board fell in the garage and broke. I was so freaked out I just sat there and looked at it for a while. After about 45min of shock, I had to hunt someone down to fix it. An expense I wasnt ready for. Good luck to ya! Enjoy! Cant wait to see pics.
