I'm not much of a golf fan, but I usually take in a bit of the Masters coverage because in most years there is some compelling drama about the whole thing.
I thought this year's event was pretty ho-hum. I could have played the last hole for Immelman, shot my usual double-bogey, and he still would have won. It's fun to see all the greenery though. Especially when here in central Minnesota we still have quite a bit of snow. Schools were cancelled this past Friday due to a winter storm, and I used my snowblower (hopefully for the last time this season) on Saturday morning. No golfing here for at least a couple of weeks yet. |

I live across the Savannah River from Augusta and am always glad to see the end of the Master's. I never go over to Augusta during that period because of the traffic, and the resturants on this side of the river get overloaded with out-of-town visitors to the point that a good percentage of us just leave the area entirely. The newspaper has a entire extra section that you have to toss into the recycling bin before coming back in to the house to read the morning paper.
No, I never did understand what is so interesting about a little white ball that gets smacked by a long club. And watching golf just seems incredibly boring. Nope, I don't get it! |

The Spring golf on TV is something I look forward to. While I'm freezing my fanny off in the Yellowstone/Teton ecosystem it's nice to see the Florida tournaments and The Masters.
I do get tired of hearing Jim Nantz gush his man crush over Tiger Woods, and although Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of our time, I would like to hear about other golfers. O43 The definition of anxiety is having two cups of coffee and a bran muffin for breakfast, and then getting stuck in traffic. |
