my son started college this week and for this first week a handful are going on a 100 mile hike. they will get a chance to bond and hopefully make this transition smoother.

My Grandson starts college this year but will be living at home for now. His other option is to move to town and live with his older sister who would probably keep an even closer rein on him than his parents.

i really pushed my son to go away to college. give him some new experiences, not have the luxury of his family to do things for him. it would have been cheaper to have him join the service i guess for the same results.
