I, as much as anyone, have had nothing but bad things to say about the NBA. I just finished a short article about this phenomenom (sp) in Sports Illustrated and have decided that maybe I should give it another try. I know there are basketball junkies out there. How about it. Let's give the NBA a chance again.

I'd like to. Really I would. But the thugs that play in the NBA really turn me off towards the game.

Plus, to me the only way to watch a basketball game is to be there in person. Basketball on TV is worse than Soccer or Golf.

I'm drawn into watching again this year by the sports vacuum left by the end of the baseball season.

Phoenix Suns don't seem to have the thug quality LKS mentioned, Steve Nash is really a soccer/hockey player turned to basketball, it's a different game when he is running it, really a team game. They are my favorite to win it all.

My local team, Golden State Warriors, have won 5 and lost 3 so far. They haven't been to the playoffs since the league took down the peach baskets and started using metal rims and nets. But there's always hope. Wink

boston celtics are like 1-6 right now. they really suck! watched parts of a couple of games and they didn't excite me. oh well, the red sox got the rights to negotiate with this japanese pitcher today so i have that to follow. and of course the patriots.

Just cannot believe that Bosox paid $51M just for the right to try to sign the guy; Japanese team is laughing all the way to the bank.

Probably another 84 years until they win again.

But it's a crapshoot. Who would have bet on the Cardinals at the end of the regular season??

Suns came in and beat the Warriors last night, Nash hit a 3 pointer with 4 seconds left to break a tie. Pretty good game, a loss to a really good team. Confused Mad

Nash gets 20 assists a few nights ago, and last night the Suns scored 161 points in 2 OT's to win again.

It's like Charles Barkley said "He's MVP because he makes everyone else better"

So the thugs have to sit out some games for the big "fight" at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.

Shows the real mentality of the players, I think, no sportsmanship at all. Isiah Thomas ordered his team to mug any Nugget who tried to dunk while ahead by 20-this is the kind of management that brings you street ball with all the trimmings.

And Terrell Owens gets fined $35,000 for spitting in a guy's face?? Are you kidding me?? The guy makes $10M this year, so that's what, POINT 3 percent of his salary? Laughable. And it's not even like giving a guy who makes $1M a $3000 fine, which would be trifling, because Owens still has $9,965,000 left.

Should have suspended him for 2 games. Mad

Gotta agree with you on the mentality of todays players. Magic and Larry would get pissed at you and get back the next time by throwing down 40 points and talking trash while doing so!

I say let 'em carry their weapons on the court. That way the worst thugs will be removed from the game - no fines needed. Eeker
