:x Hi-I lowered my cholesterol 29 points by using rice bran oil. Does anyone else have any experience using rice oil? I also like to cook with it. I don't eat trans fats so I think that helps too.

Yes, I have heard too that rice oil is good for cholestorol reduction as it does not have the bad fatty acids which leads to heart problems .But what about heartburns and other problems ? This is also caused by taking oily stuff if taken too regularly. I have been suffering from heartburns too and have been advised to take nexium. This is quite an expensive drug , however, cheap nexiumis available either in local drugstores or can be procured online. Its quite effective.

:x I heard that Rice Oil also helps with heartburn-it has gamma-oryzanol that is not found in any other oil. As for using rice oil it is the BEST for cooking because it has one of the highest smoke points of any oil-490-olive oil is 360-so don't crank up your olive oil or you can damage it. It can also be used for making salad dressings-this might be a good way to get a good dose if you suffer from heartburn.

:^O Here's a link for heartburn that includes a more natural path. You might want to try this for 6 weeks to see if it helps instead of taking nexium.

Yes, A natural component of rice bran oil lowers cholesterol in rats, and ongoing research also shows it may have potential as an anti-cancer and anti-infection agent in humans. Want to know more about exciting research on cholesterol level visit http://crestor.info.

Saturated fats tend to raise both HDL (“good”) and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. Trans fats are even worse for cholesterol levels than saturated fats, because they raise LDL and lower HDL cholesterol. So avoiding foods high in saturated and trans fats is very important for maintaining healthy blood cholesterol level.

Except, of course, that there's no evidence that links cholesterol and heart-disease in a causative way. You all might want to read this article on Men's Health magazine's website.
