Aside from the fact that I appear to be posting in a ghost town, I will state that my one week of kettlebelling is wokring out well. My lower back seems to be getting stronger and so does my overall stamina. We'll see how long I can keep this up.

Are use using them at a gym, or did you get some of your own?

I've never seen a gym around here with kettlebells.

I bought a couple when times were better. They give a great over all body workout, although this morning my back was a stiff as could be. So I'm going to rest a few days and start again on Wednesday maybe.

How heavy are these things anyway? I don't recall ever seeing them at places like Sports Authority.

And you are right, sometime this forum is like a Ghosttown.

I have to admit, I didn't even know what Kettlebells were until I looked it up on the Internet. Looks like something Bluto would have been using to pump up in an old Popeye cartoon!

I guess just like in Rocky IV, the old ways trump the high tech training yet again.

I used to have a fairly complete home gym in my younger days. I have regressed to simply doing pushups, situps, walking and playing basketball to try to keep some level of fitness. Seems to work just as well, but maybe I'm just kidding myself.

I just read something about playing sports being better than "working out" at staying fit.

And I think the old fashioned stuff is often better. A lot of modern equipment isolates muscles, but isolating muscles has now been shown to be a "bad idea".

Just like the whole weightlifting belt thing - it actually does more harm overall than good.

And I actually knew what kettlebells were. I saw something about them a while back when looking for exercise equipment you could built yourself.
