I stated in a previous post that I am working two jobs. My "day" job is working as a school teacher. My night job is working in a produce department at a local grocery store. I throw 20, 30, 40, 50 lbs. of produce (gently of course) here and there.

I do a SuperSlow workout on Saturdays which have been very good.

I do five lifts, chest press, curls, lateral raises, weighted deep knee bends, roamn chair sit ups.

So far I have plenty of energy and get done what needs to be done.

In view of everything that you have going on, your exercise program looks fairly good. The only thing that I might suggest is to add one "pulling" type of an exercise to help balance out all of the "push" type things that you do. Chinups would be ideal, but something that simulates a "seated row" would also work pretty well. My son is a High School teacher/coach and his schedule is hectic so I have some appreciation for how busy you must be.

I personally wish that school teachers were paid more so that they didn't have to get second jobs so often. Keep up the good work.

If I could spell Roman Chair correctly that might be good... Big Grin

I think I am going to drop curls and ad one arm rows. I'm not at the stage where I'm going to be doing pull ups.

Thank you for the suggestion.

You are right, one arm rows would be better since you are carrying a lot of boxes which already hits the biceps.

I have done the one armed row two weeks in succession now. I added 30 seconds to my time under load yesterday. I will be adding 5 pounds this coming Saturday and see where I can get with that. Currently I have settled on the following: Soloflex bench press with free weights, one armed row, lateral raise, leg raises, and deep knee bends with a weighted dip belt. I am losing body fat and getting stronger.

I changed things up today...I have spent the last 2 months doing slow repetition weightlifting. Tonight I noticed my Russian kettlebell sitting in the corner so I did some swings, one armed presses and passes between the legs. It was a nice change of pace and a good 10 minute workout. Anymore And I don't think I'd be able to move tomorrow.

No gym membership.
Just a lot of walking.

Did anyone else read the article in the print mag (and the website) about the risks associated with using some of the standard fitness center equipment?

I never did like that type of equipment anyway.

LKS, thanks for the post as I would have missed it and it was a good article. I still use a machine for a couple of things, but my workouts are about 60 % free weights (including body weight), 20 % cable work and the remainder on machines.

Got to brag a little today. I think I wrote about some back problems I had a few months ago, and while everything is fine now, it really torched my fitness.

My work has a small gym and earlier this week I started utilizing it. I had been working out at home, but I had reached what I could do with my limited stuff at home (plus it's too freaking cold outside to run). Today I got in a full mile on the treadmill at just over 6 mph (I need to reach at least 6.5 on the two mile run for the Guard). So I'm pretty proud of myself for making it back that far from a pretty painful back.

I'm 43 and 350 days. I get up in the AM and Airdyne for 30 minutes 3 days a week. I try to get out and downhill ski 1-2 days a week, and I supplement this with a Bullowrker workout 3 days a week.
