Hi Everyone,
Because there isn't a "General" section, I thought I'd post this in the "Sexuality" section, given that it appears to be the most frequented forum on this discussion board. I was just curious to know a little bit more about the members and thought that this thread might be a place where we could introduce and share a little bit about ourselves. I'm 30. I've been married for the past year-and-a-half, although "on and off" with my wife for the past several years. We have two children together and a third on the way so, in keeping with the spirit of the "vasectomy" thread, I think I'll be pursuing that option real soon! I work as a social worker and although work is good, I don't think I can keep up with it until retirement although I haven't yet figured out what I'd rather do. I started reading Men's Health as a 15 year old but that magazine really has become the Cosmo of men's magazines and I appreciate the "maturity" of Best Life much more. |

Good idea h.c. - it's nice to know where others are "coming from."
I am 47, married 28 years and have two grown sons. I work as a technical consultant in my own business. I've been a Mens Health reader for many years as well, but must confess the mag seems a bit "young" for me now. I still have a subscription and read most of the content after which I pass the copies on to my youngest son. I too like the maturity of the Best Life publication. Ideally, for me the perfect fitness and lifestyles magazine would be some combination of the two. I like this forum because I can find perspective on topics that interest me by people in similar situations and age groups. I'd really like to see this forum "take off." |

As would I. I hope the administrators of this discussion board are paying attention and follow through on some of the suggestions that I've seen made about improving the overall quality of the board (technically, speaking).

hey man,
I also worked as a social worker for 5 years and figured out it was hard to raise 2 children on that salary. I went on to further my education in healthcare administration. I have been working in that field for the past 10 years. I recently started my MBA. I had the Big V after 2 children. Sex is better not having to worry! No regrets. I have read Menshealth for years and have learned a lot. |

Ok, let's have a go at this again -
I'm 44, married for the second time, one son. Work in cartography for a fair sized county government. I'm a subscriber since BestLife started, and before that I subscribed to Men's Health. I agree with the others that Men's Health is a bit more focused on the younger crowd. To put a "sex" spin on it - how often do you and your S.O.s have sex? Is it better or worse than when you first got together? -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

I'm with you folks about the maturity of this site.
I'll be 52 this year and like others feel Men's Health is just a little too focused on the younger crowd. I've not been overly impressed with Best Life...it just seemed to me to be missing something - I can't put my finger on it. |

SCANLY CLAD HOT YOUNG WOMEN MAYBE?
|
||
|
That's part of it. Some of the things I like about MH is all the small artilces about food, nutrition, excercise. Lot's of little tid bits about gadgets and what's in fasion.
One thing I've noticed is the quality of the magazine - paper quality and such are just not the same. If you dig deep enough there are hot women are on the BL web site. The sex forum in MH is not at all appealing. I'm not interested in knowing J/O techniques or who's gay or not or how to preform oral.... |

I'm soon 59, single and divorced twice, two adopted sons aged 15 and 13 at home, one granddaughter aged 16 months from daughter of first marriage, work fulltime 50+ hours weekly and have time for SI and BL. I'm cancelling my SI subscription and keeping BL. It has enough relevant information for me to consume on my schedule, especially on diet, exercise and style. I plan on being here and active for the next 30 years; want to see my greatgrandchildren!

Hi Everyone,
It's been a long time since I logged into this forum, as I find these online forums can be somewhat addictive. Got an email from bestlifeonline.com a few days ago regarding the changes to the forums and thought I'd check them out so here I am. Looks like I've got a lot of reading ahead of me!... Good luck with the "being here an active for the next 30 years" goal, Depp. Getting to see your greatgrandchildren would be something special. LKS, to answer your question, 3-5 times per week, on average, I'd say. Better now. I find I appreciate things more the older I get.... |

Glad you came back h.c. Hopefully the little community here will grow some more from the extra attention that BestLife has given us. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

Thanks, LKS. Hey, you didn't answer your own "sex" spin questions!

My wife's been pretty sick for about a year now, so right now it's none at all. She's on the mend, and we've been sort of working up to it, but for now it's just kissin' and huggin'. -- "No job is beneath a man's dignity as long as it is honest and supports his family" - my grandfather http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/bestlife |

I'm sorry to hear that, LKS. I'm glad to hear that "she's on the mend". I guess you'll both have some catching up to do!
