Another marriage forum I'm in has a thread where members list ten positive things about their spouse. How about we do that here?

I'll go first.

1. She's my best friend.
2. She's a fantastic mother to our daughter.
3. She willingly cleans the bathrooms.
4. She willingly do the laundry.
5. She supports me in all I do.
6. She attends Bible studies with me.
7. She enjoys spending time with me.
8. She's cute.
9. She enjoys a lot of the same television shows as I do.
10. She has a great chest!

umm...i'm not married....but i have 10 great things to say about being single...just kidding

Great Idea. It's always easy to rip on one's spouse, but this forced me to remember why I do love her. Here's my list (in no particular order)

1. She convinced me to have kids
2. She puts up with my mood swings
3. She manages the money
4. She makes lists
5. She has long blond hair that smells and feels great
6. She meets me for lunch sometimes
7. She doesn't make me watch "Desperate Housewives"
8. She's not high maintenance
9. She loves me unconditionally
10. She has a nice bottom!

BTW, Lancers, what's the other marriage forum site you mentioned.

OK, I'll bite (these are not necessarily in any kind of order of importance, just listed as they came to me):
1. smarter than I

9. takes care of herself, and the rest of the clan

I married up.

Its hard to list only ten positive things about my wife, but here goes:

1. She's looks just as beautiful when she just woke up and wearing pajamas as when she's made up and wearing a sexy outfit.
2. She's helped me to become a better person, inside and out. But more importantly, she makes me want to be a better person.
3. She keeps me from doing foolish things.
4. My friends always say how much of a joy it is to be around her and how much they like her. I believe them.
5. She has had incredible patience with her in-laws (i.e. my family) and treats them as if they were her own family.
6. We can act silly together and have a good time no matter what we're doing.
7. Its so fun watching her ENJOY food.
8. She's book smart and street smart.
9. She's helped me figure out what's important in life.
10. She's just the cutest person ever.

This is a joke - right? And these postings are jokes too right?? Surely - you can't be serious.

Why would you think this is a joke? You can't think of 10 good things to say about your spouse? I have a hard time limiting it to 20....

This sounds like the mush someone would write about someone they just picked up or met, or perhaps just married - not someone you've been married to for any length of time. I can think of maybe 3 things...but not having much luck getting beyond that. I think the phrase "familiarity breeds contempt" applies here...maybe not this small sampling size, but for most marriages.

Here are 10 things, in no particlular order:

1) Best cook I've ever known
2) Still looks hot to me
3) Has my back when trouble starts
4) Great (step-)mom
5) Smart
6) Funny
7) Seems to put up with me no matter how stupid I get
8) Is happy to be married to me
9) Is "soul-mate" over-used?
10) Makes me very happy

This year will mark our 16th wedding anniversary and our 17th year together.

1. great mom to the kids
2. she nags me about my health issues
3. when we went to chicago this year was willing to go to two baseball games and not make me go to oprah. (not even a red sox game)
4. fantastic in bed!!
5. deals with my faults (that is a two way street)
6. goes to church most sundays with me even though she doesn't really want to go
7. makes me laugh
8. after 17 years i still love to be with her
9. loves the boston red sox as much as me
10. we can go on vacation together and not talk about the kids or jobs.
